Commemorative books are a unique and satisfying project because I know they will be treasured. For that reason, my work as a copyeditor and proofreader is so important. 100 Years of the Northwest Washington Fair celebrates the beginnings of a tradition that many in Whatcom County (and throughout Washington State) look forward to each August. I remember the first time I went to the fair in Lynden and how impressed I was with the whole thing — from the animals so lovingly cared for by FFA students and local farmers, to the displays and collections, to the food! Oh, the food! So, when I was asked to collaborate on this project, I was thrilled. I love a good history and the NW Washington Fair book with its phenomenal photos, stories, and amazing design does not disappoint. It’s a great coffee-table book and I’m happy to have been part of the team that produced it.
