Now and then I’ll get a really interesting client out of the blue. This is one of those times. I was contacted by the KCP International Japanese Language School director to review and edit their beautiful glossy brochure for the upcoming academic year. There was a challenge, however: They needed to take a 36-page booklet down to 16 pages. Because I also have layout and design experience, I was able to trim and reposition information throughout the book, making this more than a simple proofreading project. The result was amazing and the client was so pleased (whew!). My next project utilized my journalism skills when I interviewed a former student about her experiences at KCP for a Q&A. Check it out: https://www.kcpinternational.com/abigail-dunn. I have since helped KCP with web posts, various writing projects, large and small — I’m there for whatever they need, whenever they need it. Bonding with clients as their go-to editor is one of my favorite things to do. It’s all about relationships.
