The college application process is stressful! As a parent, I know how hard it is to work with your own kiddos on their applications, so I don’t do it! This is why I can help you. I can ease the tension by working with your child on their writing so you don’t have to. I have had great results helping students with their personal essays and college application writing prompts. My approach is nurturing but firm to keep your student on track and maintain family harmony. I start by scheduling a meeting with the student to suss out their goals, letting them tell me all about themselves in an informal setting. Bragging is highly encouraged! Then we start working on the writing together until it’s done. I have thank-you notes from students that say “I couldn’t have done it without your help” and “You really understood my goals and ideas” and my favorite: “My mom thanks you.” It’s nice to know that there are fewer slammed doors and tears!
